Extended d-Drive Series allows high performance for several channels
Piezo actuators have the ability to respond to parameter changes in microseconds. This makes them an excellent choice for active damping of high load machines and laser systems.
Since mechanical design for this application is already state of the art, the technical challenge up to now was the conversion of the control signals on the actuators to deliver sufficient current to reach these high speeds.
In order to reach the aim of higher power for the control, piezosystem jena has enhanced their digital amplifier series with the newly developed high power EVD300 amplifier. The d-Drive system can now be configured with up to three amplifier modules with 300 mA each.
Furthermore, this allows the d-Drive system to control multi-axial scanning applications with piezo stages and laser scanning systems. The higher electrical power allows for positioning tasks that can be achieved in microseconds. In addition, mirror tilting systems can be controlled and regulated precisely. The d-Drive system is also available with the EVD50 and EVD125 amplifier modules.
